“問題を先送りにする”という意味があります。
We should not kick the can down the road.
我々は問題の先送りをするべきではない。

今日、現地のアメリカ人スタッフと打ち合わせをしていて新しく知った英語表現をご紹介します。日々発見です。
Back-of-the-envelopeは文字通りは封筒の裏ですが
“簡単な計算, 大まか計算”
という意味があります。
I did a back-of-the-envelope calculation and found out that I am wasting over 50 hours a year in traffic jams.
ざっと計算してみたら、私は一年で50時間以上を交通渋滞で無駄にしていることがわかった。

Bumpy roadとは”でこぼこ道”という意味ですが、ビジネス会話では
“紆余曲折、いろいろあった出来事”
という意味で使われます。
